We're customers, just like you. We've lost files, suffered disk drive crashes, spent hours recovering from virus damage the best we could and...we hate to do backups! There's never enough time. There's always something else that demands attention. We knew there had to be a better way!

We use LifeLine•DVD in our offices. And not just for testing and development. LifeLine•DVD backs up our business. It has removed one of those invisible sources of stress from our hectic workday. And some of us think we sleep better at night as a result.

Our entire management team is hands-on. We have worked in the field of Information Technology for many years. Our entire focus has been to build a better way to do backup.

Larry Shoer, Founder and President,
is a Ph.D. and former professor. He was IT Director of the Semiconductor Division of one of the largest computer companies. Larry is the one who decided to find "a better way" to do backups. He conceived LifeLine•DVD, assembled the team, and steers the overall direction of the company. When he takes a break Larry can be found working on or driving his 1952 MG TD roadster.

Skip Richards, Vice President,
is an MIT alumnus with extensive IT management and consulting experience. Skip loves to grapple with the most complicated technical problems and come up with simple, elegant solutions. And he still has an excellent sense of humor. Ask him about his paper clip collection!

Derrell Lipman, Chief Technology Officer,
thinks way, way "outside the box" and has been coding client solutions for two decades. We are convinced there is no coding problem Derrell can't solve. Derrell is also a member of the Samba Team (that’s Derrell in the front left, us3.samba.org/samba/team) which allows Windows and Linux computers to share files seamlessly. Derrell has also made important contributions to the Civil Air Patrol and, when not coding, can be found flying "around the box" in his Grumman Tiger airplane.

We worked for two years developing our first backup appliance and scrapped it before selling the first unit. Oh it worked. It just didn't work the way we wanted it to. We started over. Like before, we worked from the customer’s point of view, but this time we threw out the baggage of past backup strategies. We started with a clean sheet of paper and some basic objectives: to build an Intelligent Backup Appliance that integrates industry Best Backup Practices and is automated and easy to use. We built with next generation technology. It took two more years.

It has been a long journey. We are proud of what we have accomplished. We know you will be pleased. Most importantly, we care about our customers and their businesses, and treat them with respect. When we make mistakes we don't spend a lot of time assigning blame, we fix the problem. Try us. You won't be disappointed.
